Transforming Difficult Windows: Custom Solutions for Bay Windows, Skylights, and More

Not every window comes in a standard rectangular size. Bay windows jut out from walls, skylights open up to the sky, picture windows span entire walls, and corner windows create unique angles that demand equally unique solutions. Standard, off-the-shelf window treatments often fall short for these architectural features, but custom window treatments from Noritly can transform even the most challenging windows into beautiful, functional design elements.

Bay Windows: Embracing the Contours

Bay windows present a particular design opportunity. These protruding windows require treatments that follow their contours while maintaining clean lines and visual appeal. Rather than fighting against their shape, custom treatments can embrace it, creating a focal point that enhances your room's character. Plantation shutters work beautifully for bay windows, adapting to each panel while providing precise light control. Custom roller shades and motorized options offer modern solutions that traverse the curves seamlessly.

Skylights: Managing Light from Above

Skylights bring natural light where it's otherwise difficult to achieve, yet they also present unique challenges. Excessive heat gain, unwanted glare, and nighttime privacy concerns make skylights tricky without proper treatment. Custom cellular shades and specialized skylight covers control light penetration while maintaining the beauty of these overhead windows. Top-down-bottom-up shades give you flexibility to let light in from the top while maintaining privacy from below.

Picture Windows and Walls of Glass

Picture windows and walls of glass create stunning visual openings but can overwhelm a room without proper treatment. Custom drapes provide an elegant solution, framing the view while offering light and privacy control when needed. For those wanting a cleaner aesthetic, custom roller shades or cellular shades offer sleek sophistication without heavy fabric.

Corner Windows and Angled Walls

Corner windows and angled walls demand treatments that follow architectural lines while maintaining functionality. Custom-fitted shutters and motorized shades can navigate these angles where standard solutions simply will not fit. The precision of custom measurements ensures perfect alignment with your home's unique geometry.

Building a Cohesive System

Skylights in difficult angles, windows that meet at unusual angles, and walls with multiple windows at different heights all benefit from treating them as a cohesive system rather than individual problems. Noritly's design professionals understand how to approach these architectural features holistically, creating treatments that enhance their character rather than disguise them.

The key advantage of custom window treatments lies in their precision. Your measurements and specifications receive individual attention, resulting in treatments that fit your windows perfectly rather than forcing your windows to fit generic solutions. Whether your space features multiple architectural challenges or just one unusual window, custom solutions respect your home's individual character while delivering the light control, privacy, and style your space deserves.
